A Little History and Why It Matters
The Garden Club at Palm Coast is celebrating 50 years of friendship, gardening and community. Its members have participated in various projects throughout the community including replanting and maintaining the Butterfly Garden at Linear Park, hosting the installation of the Blue Star Memorial Marker on SR100, supporting projects by the Eagle Scouts, participating in Arbor Day celebrations by planting trees throughout the city, establishing junior garden clubs at local elementary schools, sponsoring local children to attend summer camp at Hammock Gardens, Camp Wekiva and SEEK, and of course our plant sales. These plant sales, particularly our Spring Festival held in April, help support our projects as well as fund our scholarship programs. Over the years the club has awarded over $60,000 to Palm Coast high school seniors.
